Non-Degree Students

A new way to improve the world around you.

Students who attend another university, are visiting New Orleans, or simply need a few prerequisites for another institution, can find a home at Loyola. If you're visiting for the summer or wish to take classes for a semester, our prominent academic offerings are available to you without working toward a degree.

Summer/Visiting

You don't have to be a Loyola student to take summer classes here. Simply complete an application and submit a transcript from your home institution. Transcripts can be sent by standard mail or via a secure electronic transcript service.

Visiting/Transient

If you attend another university but want to take classes at Loyola for a single semester or single summer, we'd love to have you. To apply to complete the Visiting Student Application and submit an official transcript from your current or most recently attended college. You must be eligible to return to your home institution to participate.

Visiting/Transient students are not eligible for need-based financial aid or merit scholarships. Admission is granted for one semester. Students must re-apply to enroll in additional semesters.


Non-Degree Seeking

You might be a non-degree student if you already have an undergraduate degree but want to take selected undergraduate classes in order to fulfill pre-requisites needed for graduate school or another professional school admission. To apply, complete the Non-Degree Student Application and submit an official transcript from your undergraduate college.

Non-Degree seeking students do not qualify for financial aid. Students can take undergraduate courses on a continual basis without pursuing a degree.
